New Age Bodhi Tree

You don’t need to be in Bodh Gaya to attain enlightenment, a relaxation Tree Bench built in white corian and peaceful surroundings is all that one requires! Talking of this bench, its one that weaves in natural elements like trees, soil and grass with modern amenities like a bench and lighting. Adaptable to a number of settings, I’d like to see one on my street!

This Watch Around Wrist

Here’s a watch which shows not only hours and minutes, but seconds (like any good watch should) and days and months as well. And not only that, this watch, called Orbit, changes color from transparent to black inverted depending on the time of day, and it works as a bedside clock when it’s off your wrist as well. Lookie! Gravitational sensor!

Each of the strips along this band represent month, day, hour, minute, second and rotate a different but constant speed. Fantabulous! Each movement of the five courses, because they’re constant but different, reveals an aesthetic quality not often seen in a clock.

Convertible Shoes

So you’ve got a pair of shoes for the sun, right? Do you have a pair of shoes for when it’s raining so much you’ve got to slosh through the puddles? Oh you do? Well how about a pair of shoes that are BOTH of those things upon a quick adjustment? A cool designer by the name of REN Fangying has a design like that. It’s called “Sunny and Rain” and it works both as a pair or regular shoes AND as a pair of overshoes, whichever you need!

Hey guess what? These could be super fashionable. Just give a pair to Lady Gaga and watch them explode. Michelle Obama could do with a pair as well if you’d like the world to love em. And me? You’d give me a pair and the whole world would say uh oh, I missed the fashion craze if Chris Burns already has a pair!

eCoin : A Future Digital Representation of Coins

I hate coins. When traveling, I usually try to pay everything with coins first to make sure I don’t have to carry too many of them in my wallet. You might come across the situation where you have to dig deeper in your wallet to find the exact change/amount. Based on that situation, eCoin was designed.

eCoin is a digital representation of small amounts or coins. The semantic values are derived from existing coins and their graphics. This device is equipped with small LCD display, few buttons, and infrared controls as receiver/transmitter. It runs on coin sized lithium battery. It can provide you with balance, transfer, or received amount information with currency name. To select the right amount of money, user you can use the buttons.

In a small amount payment scenario, the amount receiver and sender, both should have this device. The sender presses the balance button to startand check the available amount in his device. He will then press and hold the increment button to reach desired value. The value increases or decrease in the multiple of least valuable amount (ex. 25 paise), the sender can adjust the amount by clicking increment or decrement button. The receiver starts his device by pressing balance button. Both, the receiver and sender align their devices (IR part), then sender presses the transfer button. The receiver can check the received amount on the LCD screen while sender can check the remaining amount on his device.

This device can be topped-up/recharged at small shops. These shops will have similar eCoin or eCoin box (big IR unit). The user has to pay the desired amount in cash to shop owner to charge their device. Similarly, the user can collect the cash from the shopby transferring funds from their eCoins to shop owner.

Other options available in eCoin are wallet friendly eCoin, keychain eCoin andwaterproof eCoin. These devices can be developed for different currency for respective countries.

AReal Atom Vehicle by Imran Othman

Some countries now have nuclear facilities. Will it be possible to design a vehicle that runs on nuclear in the future? Well, anything is possible. Nuclear has always been a solution to our energy problem and I’m sure we can create new advanced technology based on it. Imran Othman, an automotive designer has designed AReal Atom vehicle. A future 2-seater vehicle powered by a real atom a.k.a nuclear. He got his inspiration from Ariel Atom transportation.

Luniform Frame Superbike by Sam Weise

This electric Luniform Frame Superbike is constructed from a weldless die cast aluminum perimeter frame. In order to reduce the overall weight of thissuper bike, the battery acts as a sub member. Its modular design allows you for easy maintenance and simpler way to dis-assembly for another cool bike body design. I hope this is not the final design, because I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be comfortable sitting on that hard frame without a seat pad.

OZO Watch by Anton Repponen

OZO Watch features a unique, minimal, and simple design. It’s really easy to read the time with this wristwatch, as you can see the time is displayed in the middle of the dial in a classic hourglass icon. The hours are displayed at the top and the minutes at the bottom. Those 2 dials rotate to present the time. In “night mode”, you still can read the time as the hourglass is illuminated with red light, along with the digits that show the current time. The main idea was to present time right in the middle of the watch in a new way. I must say, it is a fun new way.

Ươm cây không cần tưới nước

Nhà phát minh công nghệ này tin rằng nó có thể góp phần khắc phục tổn thương mà nhân loại đang gây ra cho hành tinh xanh.

Chiếc hộp Groasis Waterboxx - (Ảnh: transfer-lbc.com) Chiếc hộp “Groasis Waterboxx”, một dạng lồng ươm cây không cần tưới nước, có thể khiến những khu vực đất đai khô cằn (do chặt phá rừng và canh tác quá mức) màu mỡ lại. Công trình của ông Pierter Hoff, một nhà khoa học Hà Lan, vừa giành giải phát minh tốt nhất năm 2010 của Tạp chí Popular Science (Mỹ). Đất khô cằn thực ra có đủ nước để cung cấp cho cây hàng thập niên, nhưng lại nằm bên dưới bề mặt vài mét. Do mưa và nước tưới bốc hơi nhanh chóng, nhiều cây non chết trước khi rễ của chúng có thể chạm tới “bể nước ngầm” này. Waterboxx, có hình dạng giống một vòng đệm hơn là một chiếc hộp, giúp cây sống đủ lâu để vươn rễ xuyên qua lớp đất khô cằn. Waterboxxcó một lỗ thông hình ống ở chính giữa, qua đó một hoặc hai cây con được trồng và cắm rễ trực tiếp xuống đất. Người trồng chỉ đổ một lần 15 lít nước vào bồn chứa bên trong hộp và 3 lít nước vào ống. Bề mặt bên trên của chiếc hộp được thiết kế để thu nước mưa và dẫn chúng vào bồn chứa, trong khi bên trong được thiết kế để thu nước bốc hơi từ không khí vào ban đêm. Chiếc hộp ngăn cách mặt đất khỏi các hiệu ứng bốc hơi do mặt trời và gió, bảo vệ cây giống và duy trì nhiệt độ đất. Một ống nhỏ bên dưới chiếc hộp sẽ cho chảy khoảng 50 ml nước từ bồn chứa vào đất hằng ngày, đủ cung cấp cho cây trong khi vẫn kích thích được rễ của chúng mọc sâu hơn để tìm thêm nước. Một khi cây vươn tới lớp đất ẩm, thường là sau một năm, người nông dân có thể dỡ chiếc hộp ra khỏi cây để sử dụng lại cho lần sau. Mỗi hộp Waterboxx có tuổi thọ 10 năm, dùng cho khoảng 2 cây trong mỗi lần trồng. Giá bán hộp đủ rẻ để người dân các nước nghèo mua được. Trong các cuộc thử nghiệm được thực hiện tại khu vực sa mạc Sahara ở châu Phi, 88% cây được ươm bằng Waterboxx sống sót, so với 10% cây được canh tác theo truyền thống.

Ô tô giá 200 triệu đồng đổ bộ thị trường Việt

Ngày 30/11 vừa qua, những chiếc BYD F0 đầu tiên với giá bán 200 khoảng triệu đồng đã chính thức lăn bánh tại Hà Nội.

Mẫu xe hạng nhỏ xuất xứ Trung Quốc được phân phối chính hãng với giá bán trong khoảng 200-300 triệu đồng.

Tham gia phân khúc xe hạng nhỏ tại Việt Nam, BYD F0 là lựa chọn đáng chú ý cho những người tiêu dùng đang muốn chuyển từ xe máy sang ô tô.

Nhìn từ bên ngoài, BYD F0 trông khá trẻ trung với phần lưới tản nhiệt và hốc hút gió hình “mặt cười” trên mũi xe. Đến với thị trường Việt Nam, BYD F0 đi kèm 5 lựa chọn màu sắc ngoại thất, bao gồm vàng Brazil, đen Doctor, đỏ French, xanh Iceland và trắng Timo.

Tương tự nhiều mẫu xe nhỏ khác đang có mặt tại Việt Nam, BYD F0 cũng sở hữu chiều dài hơn 3 m. Cụ thể, mẫu xe hạng nhỏ dài 3.460 mm nhưng mang đến không gian nội thất khá thoáng nhờ khoảng cách giữa hai trục đạt con số 2.340 mm. Khoảng cách giữa hai hàng ghế đảm bảo vị trí ngồi phía sau cho 2 người trưởng thành cao trên 1m70 và 1 trẻ em.

Bước vào bên trong BYD F0, khách hàng có thể nhận ra bảng điều khiển trung tâm với đồng hồ công tơ mét và đồng hồ báo tốc độ vòng quay động cơ tách biệt. Bên cạnh đó là màn hình LCD nhỏ có chức năng hiển thị thông tin và các hộc chứa đồ.

Tất nhiên, với giá bán chỉ 200 triệu đồng, BYD F0 không thể cung cấp cho người sử dụng những trang thiết bị ngang bằng dòng xe hạng sang. Thay vào đó, mẫu xe hạng nhỏ xuất xứ từ Trung Quốc chỉ mang đến những phụ kiện cơ bản như cụm đèn Halogen phía trước, đèn phanh trên cánh gió mui, bộ lazăng hợp kim đúc 14 inch, gương ngoại thất điều khiển điện, nội thất nỉ (hoặc da tùy chọn), ghế sau gập xuống tạo mặt phẳng chứa đồ, gương chiếu hậu chống chói cùng hệ thống âm thanh CD/MP3/AUX.

Những trang thiết bị an toàn dành cho BYD F0 gồm có hệ thống chống bó cứng phanh ABS, hệ thống phân bổ lực phanh điện tử EBD, dây đai an toàn 3 điểm cho 4 vị trí ngồi và hệ thống 2 túi khí cho hàng ghế đầu.

Cung cấp năng lượng cho tân binh dòng xe hạng nhỏ tại Việt Nam là khối động cơ 3 xylanh, DOHC, dung tích 998cc, phun nhiên liệu đa điểm tuần hoàn. Đi kèm với hộp số sàn 5 cấp, động cơ sản sinh công suất 67 mã lực, mô men xoắn cực đại 90 Nm lần lượt tại 6.000 và 4.000 – 4.500 vòng/phút. Khi vận hành tại đường xá Việt Nam, BYD F0 có thể sẽ “ngốn” lượng nhiên liệu khoảng 5 - 5,5 lít/100 km.
