Thực hiện kế hoạch công tác năm học 2010- 2011, khoa MTCN triển khai tổ chức cuộc thi “Thiết kế & tạo dáng mô hình, hình khối, tượng trang trí cho khuôn viên sân vườn của trường đại học Tôn Đức Thắng, tại cơ sở Tân Phong, Quận 7, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh”

1. MỤC ĐÍCH:
Cuộc thi nhằm phát triển ý tưởng sáng tạo mỹ thuật, nâng cao kỹ năng tạo mô hình và đóng góp của sinh viên vào việc xây dựng cơ sở vật chất của trường đại học Tôn Đức Thắng, tại cơ sở Tân Phong,
quận 7

2. YÊU CẦU:
Các tác phẩm “ Hình khối - tượng trang trí trong khuôn viên sân trường” cần thể hiện được các yêu cầu:
- Vẻ đẹp về hình khối, tỷ lệ, nhịp điệu và sự hài hòa với khuôn viên vườn và toàn bộ trường.
- Chất liệu, và màu sắc của hình khối- tượng trang trí
- Thể hiện nội dung các chủ đề: về tình bạn; tình thầy trò; về học vấn; tri thức; cách điệu các biểu tượng của các khoa của trường đại học Tôn Đức Thắng

3. ĐỐI TƯỢNG THAM GIA:
Tất cả sinh viên khoa Mỹ thuật công nghiệp (kể cả những sinh viên đã tốt nghiệp) và sinh viên của các khoa khác của trường đại học Tôn Đức Thắng

4. THỜI GIAN TỔ CHỨC:
- Cuộc thi triển khai từ ngày 10/11/2010 đến ngày 10 /01/ 2011.
- Chấm điểm và tổng kết giải thưởng: 11 /01/ 2011
- Phát thưởng: 14/01/ 2011 tại cơ sở Tân Phong, Quận 7

5. QUY CÁCH THIẾT KẾ TÁC PHẨM:
- Bản vẽ phối cảnh: khổ A3 ( vẽ tay, hoặc vẽ bằng chương trình 3Dmax)
- Bản vẽ kỹ thuật : khổ A3 ( Tỷ lệ phù hợp) vẽ tay hoặc bằng chương trình Autocad
- Bản thuyết minh ý tưởng( không quá 1 trang A4: đánh máy )
- Bản vẽ và bản thuyết minh đều phải ghi rõ tên họ sinh viên, mã số, lớp. Tất cả cho vào một phong bì, có ghi rõ họ và tên sinh viên dự thi
- Mô hình hình khối có kích thước D x R x C: < (45 x 45 x 45)cm. có đính bảng tên (in chữ vi tính): tên tác phẩm và tên tác giả: ( sinh viên, MSSV, lớp)
- Chất liệu mô hình: không hạn chế

6. THỜI GIAN NHẬN TÁC PHẨM BÀI THI:
- Thời gian thực hiện : 10/11/2010 đến 10/01/2011
- Hạn chót nộp bài :16 giờ 30 ngày 10/01/2011
- Địa điểm nhận bài :

7. CƠ CẤU GIẢI THƯỞNG:
- 01 giải nhất : 5.000.000 đồng
- 02 giải nhì, mỗi giải : 2.000.000 đồng
- 03 giải ba, mỗi giải : 1 000.000 đồng
- 05 giải Khuyến khích, mỗi giải : 500.000 đồng

8. CÁC QUY ĐỊNH CHUNG:
- Tác phẩm không vi phạm bản quyền tác giả ( trường hợp tác phẩm đoạt giải bị vi phạm bản quyền tác giả: ban tổ chức sẽ thu hồi giải thưởng)
- Mỗi tác giả không được nộp quá 3 sản phẩm.
- Sinh viên tham gia cuộc thi được cộng điểm về đánh giá rèn luyện đạo đức, cuối năm
- Ban tổ chức có quyền sử dụng các tác phẩm dự thi.
- Tác phẩm đạt giải, nếu được chọn thể hiện thành tác phẩm thật trong sân trường, sẽ được ghi tên tác giả vào hình khối - tượng trang trí

Góc làm việc “động”

Một phòng làm việc dù nhỏ nhưng có thiết kế ấn tượng và hài hòa sẽ tạo cho bạn cảm hứng làm việc hơn là những căn phòng lớn nhưng bài trí lộn xộn, không ý tưởng.

Góc làm việc - nơi tạo cảm hứng cho chủ nhân.

Nhiều người đã rất coi nhẹ góc làm việc của chính mình và thường không để tâm đến chúng. Tuy nhiên góc làm việc lại là nơi rất quan trọng, đặc biệt là với những người có thói quen làm việc tại nhà.

Một vài mẫu thiết kế phòng làm việc dưới đây giúp bạn có nhiều lựa chọn hơn trong cách bài trí căn nhà của mình

Văn phòng trong "hộp"

Sáng tạo theo ý tưởng và kích thước tùy biến của chủ nhân.

Là ý tưởng của nhà thiết kế Boxetti, phòng làm việc này đã mang đến cho khách hàng nhiều bất ngờ hơn cả sự mong đợi. Màu sắc tương phản giữa đã tạo nên điểm nhấn mạnh mẽ mỗi khi chúng thể hiện vai trò của mình.

Với thiết kế này, khách hàng có thể sử dụng ở mọi không gian khác nhau. Nếu diện tích không cho phép, chúng sẽ được kê sát với những bức tường và các hộc tủ, bàn làm việc, ngăn kéo chỉ được lôi ra khi cần thiết.

Chắc chắn khi đứng một mình.

Còn những phòng không bị hạn chế về diện tích, phòng làm việc Boxetti có thể dùng làm thành những vách chia linh hoạt. Khi đó, bàn làm việc hoặc những ngăn chức năng khác không nhất thiết phải thu gọn mà còn cho phép đặt thêm một số vật trang trí làm nổi bật tính cách và giới tính của chủ nhân.

Là model văn phòng “hạt đậu”, vì thế ngoài linh hoạt tại mọi nơi chúng còn là một chiếc tủ cá nhân cất trữ tài liệu an toàn. Với thiết kế này, chủ nhân cũng có thể tùy biến theo sở thích của chính mình từ kích thước đến màu sắc.

Tuy nhiên, vật liệu cấu thành nên chọn những chất liệu nhẹ như inox, thép không gỉ hoặc gỗ công nghiệp...

Một tủ cá nhân an toàn.

Phòng làm việc này thực sự thích hợp cho những căn phòng nhỏ, rộng khoảng 1.2 m cho cả 2 khoang và chiều sâu khoảng 0.3m, đủ để đặt được các loại sách tài liệu cỡ giấy A4. Khi cần, chúng được mở ra tạo thành góc làm việc riêng biệt, còn lại chúng sẽ khép kín như những tủ đứng thông thường và có khóa đảm bảo an toàn cho các tài liệu bên trong.

Velocity Mobile Concept by David Turpin

Talk about stylish mobiles and of course the iPhone pops up into our minds. But, tell me, is iPhone the end of the world? Don’t you think the iPhone has gone a bit too old and we need another dashing mobile design that can add a fashion statement to our lives? If you think yes then these mobile designs are what you should check out.

David Turpin is a self taught French design who is currently living in the UK. After he completed his art school he worked in Paris and then went to Hong Kong.

So goes the story of David and he personally believes that his work is still evolving and he can do much better in the future. But, I personally thinking that these mobile concepts are perfect and I really like the fact that David Turpin is so humble. As they say, the day you stop learning and think you know everything is the day when you grow old.

Okay so basically this project is in collaboration with the ICD for velocityMobile which is a mobile and consumer electronics design company based in Seattle. The project here was to design concepts of mobile phones and UMPC devices. David did the project and he has shared with us some of the samples.

So, this is not just about one mobile concept but here as you can see in the pictures are different mobile sets of different types. Some of them have QWERTY keyboards, some of them are completely touchscreen phones and some of them are the basic phones.

I actually like the one with a slide-in QWERTY keyboard. It is really a cool design and it’s neat as well. I don’t personally like the one with those orange cuts but overall I think all the designs are neat, chic and extremely user friendly (at least they look that way). I am in love with David’s work and I am hoping that we get to see these mobiles soon in the future. Good work David! Love it!

The Singapore University of Technology and Design by UNStudio and DPArchitects

The collaboration result between UNStudio and DPArchitects is The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). They’ve been chosen from a shortlist of five practices to design SUTD. Their architecture design proposal reflects the university curriculum : “Using the creative enterprise of the school to facilitate a cross-disciplinary interface; interaction is established between the professional world, the campus, and the community at large.”. The proposal describes a non-linear connective relationship between the students, faculty, as well as they spaces they interact with.

The Singapore University of Technology and Design will offer four key academic pillars: Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD), Engineering Product Development (EPD), Engineering Systems and Design (ESD) and Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD). The New SUTD campus will facilitate cross-disciplinary interaction between all four pillars of academia. The orientation and organisation of the campus is designed through two main axes; the living and learning spines which overlap to create a central point, binding together all corners of the SUTD. These thoroughfares create a 24/7 campus of seamless connectivity. An open forum of learning is established by bringing professionals, alumni, students, and faculty together to interact both on an academic and a social level.

Panasonic có thể ra mắt Plasma 3D siêu mỏng

Panasonic có thể ra mắt một mẫu TV Plasma 3D mới tại triển lãm CES 2011 với thiết kế siêu mỏng và khả năng truyền dẫn tín hiệu 3D không dây. Mẫu Plasma 3D mới của Panasonic được cho là sẽ có thiết kế siêu mỏng giống với model 2D Z1 ra mắt từ năm 2009. (Ảnh: Panasonic). Flatpanels HD cho biết, Panasonic đang chuẩn bị trình làng một mẫu HDTV 3D Plasma cao cấp mới mang tên mã ZT30 (hay ZT35 series). Đây được cho là model Plasma có thiết kế siêu mỏng, kế tục cho các mẫu Plasma 2D Panasonic Z1 và Z11 series ra đời từ năm 2009. Theo nguồn tin mà Flatpanels HD có được, mẫu Plasma 3D ZT30 mới này còn được trang bị những công nghệ hình ảnh cao cấp vốn có trên dòng Plasma "huyền thoại" Pioneer Kuro, sau khi Panasonic đã đạt được thỏa thuận mua lại nhà máy sản xuất TV và màn hình Plasma của Pioneer. Ngoài ra, đây có thể sẽ là mẫu HDTV 3D đầu tiên trên thế giới được trang bị công nghệ truyền dẫn nội dung 3D qua kết nối không dây với bộ thu phát tín hiệu nằm rời bên ngoài. Siêu phẩm Gallardo Bicolore sẽ ra mắt năm 2011

Quay lại thời điểm năm 2005 Lamborghini đã phát hành phiên bản SE của Gallardo, một phiên bản giới hạn trong đó chỉ có 250 đơn vị được sản xuất với hai tông màu cơ bản ở cả nội thất và ngoại thất cùng một số thay đổi nhỏ.

Giờ đây hãng xe Ý sẽ cung cấp một phiên bản Gallardo mới cùng một vài lựa chọn phiên bản đặc biệt.

Siêu xe LamborghiniGallardo Bicolore

Theo teamspeed cho biết, phiên bản đặc biệt đầu tiên sẽ xuất hiện dưới tên gọi Gallardo Bicolore dự kiến sẽ được tung ra vào năm 2011, nhiều khả năng sẽ có mặt tại triển lãm Detroit Auto và bắt đầu chuyển đến các đại lý vào tháng 2 năm 2011.

Phiên bản Gallardo Bicolore sẽ được cung cấp tông “màu kép", một bộ vành mới có tên Callisto, cùng nội thất mang phong cách thể thao hơn so với Gallardo SE. Đặc biệt, hãng xe Ý sẽ tăng công suất nhiều hơn khoảng 20 mã lực so với phiên bản tiền nhiệm. Tuy nhiên, khách hàng cũng có thể lựa chọn giữa một vài màu sắc khác nhau như (màu xám, trắng, vàng, cam và xanh lá cây) cùng với sự kết hợp của nóc xe màu đen.

Lamborghini khẳng định, “trái tim” của phiên bản đặc biệt này chắc chắn sẽ được phát triển dựa trên phiên bản Gallardo LP560-4.

Phiên bản Gallardo LP560-4 được trang bị động cơ V10 5,2 lít phun nhiên liệu trực tiếp, với công suất và mô-men xoắn được cải thiện qua các thế hệ trước. Siêu xe mới được thiết kế giảm đến 20 kg (44 lb) nhẹ hơn so với phiên bản Gallardo năm 2008 nhờ sử dụng chất liệu sợi carbon. Ngoài ra, động cơ còn kết hợp với hộp số tự chọn bao gồm 6 cấp bằng tay hoặc hộp số E-gear 6 cấp. Nhờ đó, giúp cho siêu xe này tăng tốc một cách hiệu quả hơn.

Tuần trước, những chiếc Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore và Tricolore đã được hãng này đem đi đăng ký như để chứng minh sự hiện diện của nó. Tuy nhiên, không có thông tin chính thức nào về giá được hãng này tiết lộ.

3 Artists Every Designer Should Know

Donald Norman concludes his recent piece for core77 by saying "But beware: We must not lose the wonderful, delightful components of design. The artistic side of design is critical: to provides [sic] objects, interactions and services that delight as well as inform, that are joyful. Designers do need to know more about science and engineering, but without becoming scientists or engineers. We must not lose the special talents of designers to make our lives more pleasurable." What he might not realize is that we are already losing that creative bent. Our desire to speak the languages of marketing, engineering, and rigorous research have left us neglecting our native tongue, design.

I argue that many young men and women are magnetically pulled toward physical (industrial) design because they have a creative passion to reshape the things around them. We live in an age of magnificent and wonderfully magical experiences. Physical design has a talismanic relationship to those experiences and must fulfill the promise or run the risk of seeming anemic.

We must remember that design is not an academic act and this reminded me of three artists at the polar opposite of much of design thought leadership, but who did much to influence physical design: Umberto Boccioni, Constantin Brancusi, and Isamu Noguchi.

Boccioni (1882-1916) was an artist, sculptor, and a futurist theoretician. Along with F.T. Martinetti he shaped the Futurist manifestos which were ground breaking in their acceptance, celebration, and exaltation of modern life. Working before WWI at the peak of the industrial revolution, the Futurists were fascinated with the new speed of the world around them. They sought to represent what they called Dynamism in their work as exemplified in Boccioni's famed "Unique Forms of Continuity in Space", 1913 (above), capturing movement, emotion, meaning and essence in form. Boccioni, as with many of the Futurists, died young during WWI, but their work and ideas went on to influence the future generations they anticipated. See also the architecture of Antonio Sant'Elia which hauntingly predicts the century of architecture that followed his death.

That is not a Philippe Starck tooth brush, it is "Bird in Space" by Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957). From a pure form standpoint, few artists have influenced as many famous designers of the physical world as Brancusi. His fascination with getting form right lead to more than 30 variations of "Bird in Space" done over a 20 year period, mostly in marble or bronze. Of his own work he said, "There are those idiots who define my work as abstract; yet what they call abstract is what is most realistic. What is real is not the appearance, but the idea, the essence of things."

Of the three, only Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) played with mass produced product, from the famous Noguchi Table to tea cups and radios. The magic is in the pure and beautiful forms of his sculpture. Though only briefly an apprentice of Brancusi, a similar sensitivity and resolution to form can be felt. Be sure to check out the Noguchi Museum on Long Island if you are able. Noguchi's work spanned a wide breadth from the design of the gardens in the IBM headquarters in Armonk, NY commissioned by Elliot Noyes to the chrome plated portrait of his good friend Buckminster Fuller.

Their long relationship, both as a friendship and a collaborative force, is a case study examining the power of art combined with science examined in Shoji Sadao's book, "Buckminster Fuller and Isamu Noguchi: Best of Friends". Their individual depth is a reminder that breadth is important, but not at the sacrifice of being able to do something really really well! Or as Brancusi said it, "Work like a slave; command like a king; create like a god."

Ellen Dissanayake, author of book "Homo Aestheticus" put it well, "each one of us should feel permission and justification for taking the trouble to live our life with care and thought for its quality rather than being helplessly caught up in the reductive and alienating pragmatic imperatives of consumer and efficiency-oriented and "entertain-me" society." As designers, we need to be at the forefront of that effort.
